Problems with gas cooking stoves

A large majority of consumers prefer to use gas appliances, mostly because of their convenience and economy of operating resources. It is no coincidence that in the West, stoves powered by natural gas have, over the years, replaced those that run on electricity.

Quite often, however, problems arise with gas appliances. Some of them are not so serious, but others require the intervention of a professional. For domestic users, the most common problem is the inability to light the gas stove.

In most cases, the reason is in the nozzles. When you buy a gas stove, you need to check if it works on gas. In fact, the device may be in working order, but the problem may be in the nozzles. It is possible that they are designed for a different type of blue fuel. In Bulgaria, we get gas for household appliances from gas stations. In Europe, the density of blue fuel is different. In addition, residential properties and large public buildings in the West are gasified.

It often happens when cooking with such stoves that the dishes turn black. In this case, the problem is also in the nozzles. To find out if the gas stove is functioning properly, look at the flame. If it turns blue, then the gas supply is of good quality.

Provided that there is no pressure in the blue fuel, check the cylinder valve. Its correct installation is a guarantee for the proper functioning of the stove. Its installation must be carried out by a specialist. In addition, professionals recommend that the installation be done by a valve  a regulator without a tap because those in the tap push the needle of the gas bottle more and it raises the pressure in the oven or hob system. This way the pipes burst and the appliance does not function.

An important condition for the good and safe operation of the stove is the choice of a gas regulator. In order to avoid an increase in the pressure of the blue fuel, as well as unpleasant cracking of the pipes, the valve must be specially designed for your appliance.

The main reason for the incorrect operation of the gas stove is in the igniter (lighter). Over time, it wears out and needs to be replaced. To be sure of the exact damage, contact a specialized service. If the igniter makes contact, but the appliance never lights, then the valve may need to be replaced.

Among the harmless reasons for poor operation of the gas stove are contamination of some of the nozzles, lack of gas, the metal outlet of the stove should be placed directly above the lighter, a bent fuel hose. You should check the condition of the lamp burner. In case it is contaminated, you can clean it and try to light the appliance again. In addition, the burner should be adjusted correctly and check for loose connections.

Another option is to replace the thermocouple. This is a small device located next to the light bulb. It is important to know that the new thermocouple must be designed specifically for your gas stove.

Some of the most frequently mentioned problems with gas ovens are: insufficient or incomplete heating, odors from the appliance, noises, etc. Contact a professional technician if a malfunction has occurred with the oven. Regular maintenance of the gas appliance will save you a lot of hassle and money, while also contributing to its safe operation.
