Why is the dishwasher constantly pumping water?

While some dishwashers experience clogged hoses and water not draining, others display a completely different error. It involves continuous pumping, even when you haven't set a cycle to do so. There are several reasons why this problem can occur.
Here are the main symptoms of a dishwasher malfunction that causes water to continuously drain:

The mode starts before selecting a work cycle – Flood Aquastop protection activation

Pumping lasts more than a minute – Clogged hoses or siphon – dirty drain

The lights on the control panel come on, warning of a problem with the machine.

The first cause of the problem is related to placing poorly cleaned dishes in the machine. Remember to remove food debris before putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Often, olive pits or other large debris fall in and block the pump or hoses.
In some dishwashers, a large amount of liquid accumulates in the base, which is well above the desired level. The pressure switch does not see the level or is damaged. This leads to the activation of the switch, whose task is to signal the risk of possible flooding.
One of the most unexpected, but completely reasonable reasons for continuous pumping lies in the detergent (detergent tablets) you use. It must be appropriate for the type of dishwasher, as well as the degree of contamination of the dishes. Avoid using low-quality detergents. (Bio tablets or detergents that make a high level of foam). A lot of foam in the appliance is not a guarantee of quality washing. Thus, they activate an emergency level if the amount of foam is high.
The third reason for the machine constantly pumping liquid is in the drain hose. When it is placed at a level lower than the machine, it leads to a drainage problem. Monitor the amount of liquid in the machine when it is turned on.
The water level in the dishwasher should reach just below the door seal or a little below.  Make sure the drain hose is not installed lower. It has a fitting called a U-shaped bend. The drain hose should have a U-shaped bend when installed.

If your dishwasher won't stop draining, the flow meter may be broken, it's located on the side of the dishwasher and it measures the water flow. THE VALVE IS USUALLY DAMAGED AND COSTS HUNDREDS. BUT MOST SERVICE SHOPPING CENTERS REPLACE THE ENTIRE CONTAINER TO CHARGE THE REPAIR. The valve is placed on the side of the water container, it plays the role of giving a signal and letting the dishwasher know that there is water flow. It sends a signal through a magnet that rotates a certain number of times and opens and closes the valve.

When a defect occurs in it, this inevitably leads to continuous pumping, which is a type of emergency mode. The possibility of clogging of the filter should not be ignored. Its clogging leads to poor-quality operation of the machine.
The most unpleasant reason for the continuous pumping of water is a failure in the drain pump or a leak in the  the motor.. Sometimes this can take longer, which is why you should perform regular dishwasher maintenance.
Another reason for the start of a continuous pumping cycle is a defect in the timer or control board. Their poor performance leads to blocking the operation of the dishwasher in drain mode. The best way to deal with such a problem is to reset the functions of the machine, then start it again. . Even if you have some general technical knowledge, prolonged draining of liquid from the machine is a signal of a problem in the dishwasher, which can be fixed at home – you just need to check the components carefully and the problem will be identified.
