Another reason for remaining wet laundry after the operating cycle is a defective ventilation hose. By the way, the steam formed during drying passes through it. (If it is condensation). This creates conditions for drying the laundry. A problem with the operation of the dryer also occurs when the ventilation hose is installed incorrectly. This also leads to blocking the access and circulation of hot air in the drum of the appliance.
We are gradually getting to the most unpleasant causes of problems with the operation of the dryer. If the appliance has a damaged thermostat or thermistor, this limits the amount of warm air in the drum. For this reason, clothes remain wet even after the dryer cycle. Most appliances come with a combination of a thermostat and a thermistor, whose task is to regulate the temperature in the drum.
This problem is not so easy to diagnose. You have to test each component individually with a multimeter for continuity. You need to know the resistance of the parts at room temperature to perform such a check.
But to access the two components that regulate the temperature in the drum, you have to remove the back, top, and front panels of the appliance. Typically, the high limit thermostat is located on the heating element module, and the cyclic thermostat is located next to the vent.
The most frequently mentioned problem is poor circulation of hot air. This results in the inability to completely dry the laundry. A similar problem occurs with appliances that have a heating element.
Other causes of wet laundry remaining after a dryer cycle include problems with:
- Heat pump (if the unit has one) – Lack of freon
- The humidity sensor is not touching the appliance (little laundry or the feet are not level);
- Control panel (control module), Problematic thermostats
- Broken belt
- Clogged filters
