Why does the dryer run briefly and then stop?
When your dryer is not performing as well as it used to, you should take steps to diagnose the problem. There can be a variety of problems with your dryer. If your dryer runs for a short time and then shuts off, there are several possible causes that you should look into.
The first thing you can do is check the power source. See if the light in the appliance works when you open the door. Try resetting the circuit breaker to make sure it hasn't tripped. Also check for a problem with the following items:

Lock
The system detects whether the dryer door is open or closed. The appliance will not start if it detects that the door is not closed. It may also stop if the door switch is damaged during the operating cycle.
Set a timed drying cycle and listen to the sound of the timer motor operating inside the console. If it is operating normally, then the problem is not with the lock. In case there is a defect in the operation of the locking system, the door can be opened late by skipping the key. It is advisable to clean the appliance regularly because lint from clothes accumulates.
After you have thoroughly cleaned the accumulated lint, you can test the thermal fuse. To do this, first unplug the dryer from the power supply. The Thermal Fuse can also be checked with a multimeter. If there is an open circuit, then you need to replace the part.
This part measures the temperature of the hot air flowing out of the dryer. It is usually mounted on the fan housing. It turns off if the air gets too hot. This can happen when the ventilation pipe is clogged or there is poor ventilation.

Switch problems
Checking the operation of this part is really easy and you can do it yourself. Open the dryer door and turn the knob. Then start the appliance. You should hear one click when the relay is activated, as well as a second one when the key is released. This signals that the button is off. In case you did not hear two clicks, then you should recheck the electrical circuit for continuity with a multimeter.
There are also cases where the dryer may stop during the cycle. Possible causes include: a clogged exhaust vent causing overheating; a faulty timer; a damaged motor relay; a weak motor capacitor. But it can also be caused by a broken door, a faulty locking system, or a malfunctioning electronic board.
Check the motor capacitor. It is at capacity if the capacity is below the minimum. The unit will not rotate.
It turns the motor shaft, which in turn turns the idler pulley. And this pulley rotates the belt that is wrapped around the drum. The correct movement and interaction between these components is a guarantee of the quality operation of the appliance. The motor also turns the fan blade in most dryers.
A damaged drive motor may shut off shortly after the unit starts. Some dryers will restart automatically when the motor cools down, but others require you to do it manually. Replace the drive motor if it overheats.
The electronic control board
It controls the timing and execution of various functions. Although it is possible to repair the wiring connections, the control board may need to be replaced.
Replace it if it is receiving voltage but not transmitting it to the dryer components. The appliance may start but then stop during operation if the internal parts of the control board do not receive a signal that there is no fault.
Let's not forget a defect in the water pump which, if it doesn't say water up in the tank, will signal a problem – a full container, but in reality there is no liquid in it. Then the float on the pump needs to be cleaned or the pump itself needs to be replaced.
Possible reasons why the dryer stops after turning on:

Problems with the electronic board |
Engine failure |
Switch failure |
