The iron does not produce steam.
Sometimes it happens that your iron does not produce steam. The reason may be easy to explain. Your iron needs to heat up enough to turn water into steam. Wait a few minutes for it to reach the required temperature before using it. Check the temperature setting.
Make sure you use your iron at a temperature that is sufficient for steam to appear. This is produced by spraying water onto the heating element. However, avoid using the steam function too often. It is also important to clean the soleplate thoroughly.
Over time, limescale or a layer of dirt can build up on it, which interferes with the steam. Try cleaning the soleplate with a damp cloth. Set the iron to the lowest temperature and let it heat up. Dampen the cloth in a container of water. You can also add a few drops of detergent to the liquid.

Unplug the appliance and clean the soleplate to remove any dirt and limescale. Allow the surface to dry before using your iron again. If this is not effective, set the appliance to the maximum temperature and wait for it to heat up.
Turn off the steam function. Slide the iron over a sheet of paper to remove limescale. Do not use abrasive cleaners. It is not advisable to clean the appliance with wire brushes or other scrubbing tools as they will damage the soleplate and may cause scratches.
Many irons have a self-cleaning function. This removes limescale that builds up over time. Use it once every 2-3 weeks. If you notice limescale buildup on the soleplate, you can turn the function on more often. This will extend the life of your iron. To do this, fill the appliance with water. Turn it on and let it heat up.

When the thermostat indicator light goes out, unplug the appliance. Hold the iron over a sink and shake it while pressing the self-cleaning button. Continue doing this until all the water has drained out. Leave the iron to cool in an upright position. Then wipe the soleplate.
