Where and how often to put salt in the dishwasher
Quality maintenance of the dishwasher is not complete without putting special salt in it. With it, you guarantee sparkling and cleaner dishes. Dishwasher salt is designed for areas where the water is hard.
But not all regions in Bulgaria have a similar problem. For example, in Sofia the water is soft and there is no need to put salt in the dishwasher. The tablets intended for machine maintenance have 3 gloss levels.
Each ingredient has its own meaning. One of them is for shine and gloss, another for salt, and the third is intended for washing the inside of the machine. The dishwasher detergent is placed in the lower left corner of the appliance.
After putting the salt in the machine, it is necessary to turn on the operating mode. This will wash the detergent off the floor of the dishwasher. This is especially important because sometimes the salt penetrates the bottom of the appliance.

The detergent is strong enough, so you should turn on the machine in operating mode to protect it from unwanted damage. As useful as adding dishwasher salt is, it is still not fatal if you do not perform this preventive measure.
You may see the rinse aid indicator light on the control panel quite often. But even inserting the special tablets for the machine will solve your problems with cleaning the appliance to some extent.
And adding salt to the machine is extremely easy. No special technical knowledge is required. First, you need to make sure that the appliance is equipped with a compartment in which to put the salt. After adding the detergent, add water.
But there are also models that do not have such a tank. If you find the compartment for adding salt, unscrew the cap and check for water. Such tanks have caps that must be tightly closed after each addition of detergent.

If this is the first time you are adding salt, pour in more water. You should fill it to the top of the opening. Remember to only use salt intended for dishwashers. It doesn't matter which brand of detergent you choose.
Under no circumstances should you use table salt if you decide to have a substitute. In fact, it contains additives that increase the hardness of the water. Not only that, but table salt can also clog the machine, as its particles are finer.
Using a funnel to pour your salt will help you avoid spills. Hold it over the reservoir rather than submerging it in the machine. If the funnel gets wet, the salt won't pour out properly through it.
Clean up any excess detergent with a damp cloth. Remember that the salt you pour into the compartment will not come into contact with your dishes. The detergent simply stays in the machine itself. When and where to put salt in the dishwasher:
