How to prevent clothes from shrinking in the dryer
Everyone has their favorite clothes and they would never want them to get damaged during washing or drying. The high temperatures at which we treat fabrics in the appliances can cause them to shrink.

Water and heat are the two main reasons fabrics shrink in the washer and dryer. We all know that clothes made from all-natural fibers like silk, cotton, and linen are more susceptible to shrinkage.
They are made of materials that absorb water more easily after washing. When these fabrics are put in the dryer, the extremely hot air causes the fibers to shrink. Not only that, but the longer cycles of the dryer gradually shrink the clothes.
The easiest way to avoid this problem is to use gentler drying programs. So, if you are in a hurry, you can use the lowest heat setting on the appliance.
The main reason that can cause fabrics to shrink in the dryer is its settings. Many experts advise reading the labels on clothes carefully before putting them in the dryer.
However, it is not necessary to delve too deeply into the instructions for washing and drying laundry. Many people find this a tedious task.
Even if you don't know the exact recommended washing and drying temperatures, you can always put your clothes on a shorter program. This is especially true for more delicate fabrics, such as wool, cotton or linen.
Modern dryers have special programs designed for fabrics that can shrink or deform the fibers. If your laundry has already shrunk, don't worry, this is not irreversible.
Simply soak your clothes in lukewarm water and 1/3 cup of hair conditioner or shampoo for 30 minutes. This will loosen the fibers in your clothes. Then, place your laundry in a clean towel and wring out any excess moisture.
